There is beauty in the everyday. To some, it is just a piece of produce, but you, like me, probably notice the beauty of the purple streaks in the artichoke and how they contrast with the green. I appreciate fresh produce. (and delicate birds, and honeybees, trees and flowers of all kinds, and every fuzzy baby critter that ever existed), I also love the rich, buttery texture of oil paints, and this is a print of the first painting in my new oil Produce series - Artichoke. It was originally painted with oils on a 6x6" flat hardboard. It was done with loose, painterly brushstrokes, and had light brushwork texture.
